What to do in Miami, FL?
My partner and I are going to Miami in a couple of months. I have been before, but only on business.
I do web searches, but there are so many results that it is overwhelming.
Are South Beach hotels really as "trashy" as all these travel review sites say they are? Where else is there (beachside) to stay in Miami under or around $250.00 per night?
What should we "not miss?" Is the public transit as good as it is in other cities, or do we REALLY need to rent a car?

Well, you can usually get a good hotel for around $250 a night in other major cities. I'm not too keen on the idea of traveling 1800 miles to stay at a Ramada, though! I'll spend more if I have to, but I think I should be able to get a good hotel for around what I am thinking. LOL

I need someone who knows the MIAMI area well please....?
I need a hotel for my upcoming vacation down in Miami. I have one currently on 1238 Collins Ave. I really would like to be at a location that is centralized/close to everything. (like Lincoln Road, events, etc...) I mapquested my hotel from Lincoln Road and it said a 20 minute drive....I still have time to cancel the hotel....I am looking for the BEST LOCATION for a hotel. Price does matter (not too expensive), but basically, I just want to be by beach, nightlife, and the best shopping...this will be my first time there! (can you tell..lol) thanks for the help!
